From Obama, there is a lot to hope. He is the best that could have been chosen for America, the world and the Middle East ;
For America, he is clever, coloured (black AND white) and economically and socially knowledgeable. Clever, he listens, thinks before acting and is able to chose the best solutions for the actual and real problems of the country, especially after the Bush administration has created so many unsurmountable crises. Economically and socially knowledgeable, he is hopefully the best able to solve current economic problems and he will at last take care of the poors in the US, especially of the 50 million Americans who have no social security and health insurance , which is a shame for the richest and strongest country on earth. Coloured, he is able to bring at last a real unity in the United States between different communities, not forgetting that his election enhances the democratic image of the US all over the world.
For the world, because what happens in the US is of great consequence the world over. The US, being the leader of the world, its president is responsible for the world's well being and has to listen to the others and think about their future. He shouldn't be egocentric like was president Bush. Obama, as he said, will listen to the others and, being clever, we will have hopefully intelligent solutions to the main world problems like East Europe and the Middle East.
As for the Middle East, he said he would speak and have discussions with friends and enemies alike. I am sure that these discussions will result in solving a lot of problems whether they be in Irak or even in Afghanistan. I hope that he will address the Israeli-Palestinian one by understanding that Islam is not the real danger; but the real danger for the Occident is losing its preeminence to China and even India, whereas the destabilisation of nuclear Pakistan is more dangerous than a nuclear Iran. For that, it is in the interest of the US and the world to solve the Israeli-Palestinian (israeli-Moslem) problem, in the goal to create a cooperation among both rivals, that brings a new Middle Eastern economic entity able to help the Occident in reviving the Mediterranean and its African countries with Israeli technology, Arab oil and cheap labor and Jewish, Lebanese and Palestinian diasporas' marketing power. If this goal were reached, we would have solved the actual economic world crisis, by helping the under developped countries and keeping their populations from emigrating to Europe and destabilizing it.
This is what I hope from Obama.
